Weekend Welcome is something new for us at Torrance Parish Church
We’ve already had a number of events and have enjoyed learning new ways to connect. We’d love for you to join us some time.
Weekend Welcome is an event aimed at Families with Primary and Nursery Aged Children. We normally run on the Last Friday of the month during term time.

Harvest Service and Walk invitation - October 2025
Because of the September Weekend we won’t be doing a ordinary weekend welcome but we’d love to invite you to our All Age Family Church Service the following weekend on Sunday 5th of October at 10:30am
We’ll be all together for the service (rather than the young people going out to different activities) and we will celebrate the harvest time with songs, prayers, bible readings and different interactive parts of the service. It will last about an hour or so and there is refreshments after. Guests are especially welcome.
At Noon we’re going to go on an Autumnal Adventure with a walk suited to families. You can join us for either or both of these events
Autumn Adventure Walk - Details
We will depart from the Church at Mid-Day on the 5th of October and finish by 1pm.
You can bring some snacks and a picnic for when we stop if you wish.
We’ll plan some Hot Chocolate!
There will be activities and a short message as part of the walk.

Normally our pattern for weekend welcome is as follows:
Starting at the end of the school there are some games and crafts and other activities for parents and primary aged children to engage with together and for others to join us as we go. We’ll then share in a light and delicious dinner. Woven into this will be a chance to explore a passage from the Bible in a meaningful and engaging way.
Here is the usual running order
- 3-3:15pm – Snack and Welcome (in cafe area)
- 3:15-3:45pm – Games led by team for young people (parents can join – or chill out!)
- 3:45-4:20pm – All age table activities (craft, board games, Lego etc….)
- 4:20- 4:25pm– Tidy up and set table for Dinner.
- 4:25-4:45pm – Family game, songs and Bible time
- 4:45-5:15pm – Meal and chat round the table
- 5:15-5:30pm – Closing words and finish.
While the activities will initially be aimed at primary aged families we’d love for others to join us too – perhaps nearer to meal time. You’re welcome to stick around after and muck in with the clear up.
Weekend Welcome is a free event. Should you wish to contribute towards the cost of the food though you are welcome to do so.
Our very first event was on Friday 19th of January 2024 and was a great success with just over 30 folks taking part and gathering round.
