Welcome

We are based in Torrance, just outside Glasgow in Scotland.
We meet for Worship Every Sunday at 10:30am

Boys’ Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade (BB) meet in Torrance Parish Church on Wednesday evenings during term time.

Junior Section: P4 to P6, 6 – 7pm

Company Section: P7 to S6, 7 – 9pm

The Boys’ Brigade is the oldest young organisation in the world, founded by William Alexander Smith over 140 years ago in Glasgow.

The vision of the BB is for children and young people to experience “Life to the full.” (John 10:10). The mission of the BB, is that the BB has faith in young people and provides them with opportunities to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun and caring environment which is rooted in the Christian faith.

There has been a BB company in Torrance for many years. The BB meets on Wednesday evenings during term time.  There are two sections at present. The Junior Section meets first from 6 to 7pm. The company and Senior section meet after the Junior Section.

We provide a variety of different activities each week. The boys have fun, play games, make friends, learn new skills through various activities and challenges.  The leaders are always looking for new games and activities to keep everyone’s interest keen.  There is a short relevant talk on some aspect of the Christian faith and gospel each week.

Other activities are out with the Wednesday evenings, often in holiday time. These have included 10 pin bowling, GoApe high ropes course, ice skating and karting.

There is a Facebook page, 1st Torrance BB. Short videos are posted there on a regular basis, so that parents can see some of the activities their sons get up to.

As part of our mission to provide a safe environment for the boys, all leaders have been through Disclosure Scotland. We also risk assess all activities.

The numbers of boys is low at present, so we have plenty of room for more boys to come along. New recruits will be most welcome.
