JTS Fair and Fine Food – Help our Producers fight Covid-19

June 9, 2020

Eswatini and KASFA have now each received their first payments from donations provided by JTS supporters through the Total Giving Page.

A spokeswoman and a female farmer from KASFA have asked us to “extend our warm appreciation to JTS and its partners for supporting KASFA with funds to help us purchase Personal Protective Equipment.  The equipment will be given to four rural health centres near where the farmers live.  This support signifies the love and care you have for our farmers.”

Eswatini have sent this message: “We would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for the compassion shown and of taking the initiative of assisting the producers during these uncertain times.”

If you are able, please continue to support the small holder farmers by donating to

JTS Fair and Fine Food – Help our Producers fight Covid-19

May 19, 2020

Sadly, Covid 19 has now arrived in the developing world to make life even tougher than normal for our producers. JTS have been asking all their vulnerable producer partners what support they need in the current crisis. KASFA rice farmers in Malawi and Eswatini Swazi Kitchen from The Kingdom of Eswatini, have told us that their main need at this time is for simple handwashing facilities and soap. Therefore we have set up a Total Giving Page to raise funds to supply these basic necessities – https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/JTSsupportingourproducers or To make a food order go to www.jts.co.uk/shop Together, we can help the most vulnerable people fight this global pandemic. Cinderella Pantomime – Also, a big thank you to the youngsters of Torrance Church for their very generous donation of over £3000 from the sale of tickets from the pantomime. We really enjoyed the night, the young folk were very professional, and we look forward to the next one!

Collecting ‘Ring Pulls’ from cans

April 20, 2020

The ring pull collection has now stopped. They were sent in vast numbers to the Philippines where people made them into jewellery and handbags which they then sold for funds for their disaster areas. Sheila Prentice from the women’s group who organised the collection would like to thank everyone for their contributions over the past two years.
NB – Please feel free to continue to collect the ring pulls as there may be another charity who could benefit from them.
