The Street Orchestra for Scotland have just launched the first Nevis Living Room Ensemble videos, with 160 musicians from 15 countries taking part. Nevis Ensemble will continue their mission to bring music to everyone, everywhere. JTS Fair and Fine Food – Help our Producers fight Covid-19

Sadly, Covid 19 has now arrived in the developing world to make life even tougher than normal for our producers. JTS have been asking all their vulnerable producer partners what support they need in the current crisis. KASFA rice farmers in Malawi and Eswatini Swazi Kitchen from The Kingdom of Eswatini, have told us that their main need at this time is for simple handwashing facilities and soap. Therefore we have set up a Total Giving Page to raise funds to supply these basic necessities – or To make a food order go to Together, we can help the most vulnerable people fight this global pandemic. Let’s give them a chance.

East Dunbartonshire Foodbank

Ann Carson, the Foodbank Coordinator, would like to thank the congregation for their support to the Foodbank over the last year. Your donation of 267.15kg of food was especially helpful over the Christmas period.
Cinderella Pantomime – Also, a big thank you to the youngsters of Torrance Church for their very generous donation of over £3000 from the sale of tickets from the pantomime. We really enjoyed the night, the young folk were very professional, and we look forward to the next one!

Collecting ‘Ring Pulls’ from cans

The ring pull collection has now stopped. They were sent in vast numbers to the Philippines where people made them into jewellery and handbags which they then sold for funds for their disaster areas. Sheila Prentice from the women’s group who organised the collection would like to thank everyone for their contributions over the past two years.
NB – Please feel free to continue to collect the ring pulls as there may be another charity who could benefit from them.

Alzheimer Scotland – Dementia Friendly Comedy Show

Wednesday 18 March, 2pm. Glasgow’s Golden Generation, a charity supporting older adults across Glasgow and surrounding areas are holding its first ever dementia friendly comedy show in the Fred Paton Day Centre, 19 Carrington St, Woodlands, Glasgow, G4 9AJ. The show is free but ticketed with anyone living with or affected by dementia, including Carers, invited to come along. Hosted by Paul McDaniel will introduce a line-up of acts who will perform short sets which are sure to get you laughing. Julie Moody is running the London Marathon!

Julie (Wilson) Moody was one of our Assistant Ministers who trained with Torrance Parish Church. Julie is running the London Marathon on 26th April 2020, and she is hoping to raise £100 per mile – a total of £2,620 for The Beatson Cancer Charity. If you would like to support Julie, you can donate online via and then insert Julie Moody under ‘Search’. Alternatively, there is a Sponsorship Form on the table in the foyer and you can give your donation to Jen Barge at the café or on a Sunday.
