The wee Christmas planning group have been hard at work and here are some suggestions for you to get involved.
Bible study: They Sang
We are of course really keen that we keep the celebration of Jesus’ birth and the wonder of that gift to us at the very centre of all our planning. To help us all with that we are suggesting that you might like to join us in a four-part Bible study called ‘They Sang’ during advent. If you would like to do this but don’t have a ready-made group, please let Stuart know and we can look at pulling little study groups together just for this period. Study books, you only need one per group, are available from a number of online retailers. Here’s one to get you started https://www.kevinmayhew.com/collections/advent-christmas/products/they-sang
Christmas decorations for our trees
We would love it if you could join our church family in providing a decoration for our church trees. This could be one you already have or, if you would like to make one specially, look out for our ‘Light up the Dark’ family event on Saturday 30th November when you can come along and join our craft session. More information about that soon.
We will be putting our decorations on the tree on Sunday, 1st December as we start advent.
Village Christmas Card
As a way of connecting with our village and sharing the wonder and joy of Christmas we have teamed up with friends from St Dominic’s to provide a card and a ‘Little Book of Advent’ for every household in the village.
We need help to get this organised:
Firstly, could you come along to church on the afternoon of Friday 22nd November between 1pm and 3pm to help us pack and sort the cards? Tea/coffee and goodies will be available to help us get into the festive spirit.
Secondly, could you help to deliver cards? Folks from TPC and St Dominics will be doing this from Sunday 1st December. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. The more we have signing up the less each individual has to do! How many more sleeps?
