Kiltwalk 2023

Alison Crawford is planning to do the 22.7 mile Kiltwalk on Sunday 30th of April to raise funds for her friend’s charity, Malawi Leaders of Learning. MLOL aims to help counter poverty in Malawi by supporting teacher education, facilitating visits and providing equipment for schools.

Would you like to hear a top-rate choir?

Bearsden Choir warmly invite you hear them sing Mozart’s Requiem in the City halls on Sat 13 May at 4.00pm, with four soloists, accompanied on two pianos.  Before the main item, we bring you five spirituals from ‘Child of our Time’ by Michael Tippet which we recently recorded for BBC2, and the world premiere of ‘Love lives beyond the Tomb’, words by John Clare (1793-1864), set to music by a member of the choir, George Swann, a young, up-coming conductor and composer.

School BBQ

The school is looking for home baking donations for the school ‘BBQ’ that is going to be held on the 19th  May. Donations welcome the morning of the event.

Holiday Club Team Meeting

The next Holiday club team meeting is on Monday 15th May at 7pm at the church.

On Saturday 10th June we are holding a Holiday Club ‘Painting Party’ at the church 10am – 4pm (come for all or some!) food provided for helpers.

Boys’ Brigade Display

BB display will be on Thursday 18th May starting 7pm. All welcome.

Boys’ Brigade Car Wash/Valet

The BB will be running a car wash and valet on Sunday 14th and Sunday 21st May 1 to 3pm, for BB funds.  Bring your car along and have it cleaned.

Girls’ Brigade Annual Prizegiving

Wednesday Evening 3rd May at 7pm

Please come along on the 3rd  May to support the girls and leaders of the Girls’ Brigade at our annual prizegiving evening. As per last year this will be an informal relaxed evening to summarise what the girls have been doing at GB over the last year and present them with their annual badges. The evening will start with tea/coffee and baking at 7pm. A collection will be taken in aid of the Emma Cameron Foundation.

Friendship Lunch

The Friendship Lunch will take place on Tuesday, 2nd May at 12.30pm.  The theme this month will be the “Coronation” so, if you would like to dress up for the occasion, please feel free!  However you wish to dress, everyone is welcome.  This will be the last lunch before our outing to Largs in June so we look forward to seeing you there.
