Celebrating OM’s 60 years in the UK

Chic Lidstone, Operation Mobilisation Church Partner rep for Scotland would like to invite you to a celebration at Perth Baptist Church on 24th November for OM’s 60 years in the UK. The celebration starts at 7:30 with refreshments beforehand giving time to meet old friends and to browse the book table! You are warmly invited to our Christmas Singalong on THURSDAY 15 DECEMBER from 1.30pm until 3.00pm. Come and join us in singing favourite Christmas songs and carols together and enjoy a dance or two if you feel inclined. It will certainly lift your spirits. The festivities will commence at 1.30pm with a light finger buffet. All in the community are welcome and we are dementia-friendly too. The Singalongs will continue next year on the 3rd Thursday of each month on 19 January, 16th February, 16th March, 20th April, 18th May, 15th June 2023 when we will break for the summer.
Visiting Friends/Phone Calls

We have a small group of people who enjoy visiting the elderly and housebound for a chat, or if preferred, keeping in touch by phone. This is a very rewarding support for folk who do not find it easy to get out and about. If you are aware of a neighbour or friend who would value a visit or phone call please speak to Dorothy or Marion and indeed if you would like to involved in this outreach we would love to hear from you.
The Preshal Trust

This is a worthwhile cause that Junior Church support each year and they are again collecting toys, chocolates, and gift sets for the above charity. If you would like to donate, can you please bring toys, unwrapped, on Sunday 11th December and these will be passed on to the Preshal Trust to distribute to the local children.
Sleeping Giant Book Review

Following on from Tommy McNeil’s’ Sleeping Giant’ Tour where folks who attended have been greatly challenged and encouraged, starting on Sunday the 27th of November at 6:30pm we’ll set a fortnightly pattern (taking a break for Christmas!) to read a chapter and then get together to reflect and share. If you would like to attend and require a copy of Tommy’s book please get in touch with the office and we can arrange to obtain a copy for you.

Preacher: Rev Stuart Irvin and the reading is from Psalm 126 with the focus on verses 3 and 4. We will leave during the service at 10.50am to walk to the War Memorial for the minute’s silence at 11am.
