MCR Mentoring
March 29, 2022
We have a big heart for supporting and encouraging young people in TPC and God has blessed us with many gifts through this.
Not all young people have the same opportunities, many children in Glasgow face challenges in their lives that make it difficult for them to succeed. The pandemic has been particularly difficult and disruptive and over 200 children will be starting S3 next year hoping for mentoring support.
Mentoring has proven to be an effective way of linking young people with adults who can encourage them and help them reach their potential.
MCR pathways is a programme which carefully links adults who want to help with young people who need their support. Mentors and young people are matched according to life experiences, personality and interests and mentors come from all walks of life.
Mentoring takes place in secondary school for one hour a week and requires a sense of humour and lots of perseverance! It is such a rewarding way to spend an hour.
Many employers support this programme and allow employees time off during working hours.
Please speak to Alison Crawford 01360 620970 if you are interested and she will be happy to share her experiences or you can find out more here: https://mcrpathways.org/become-a-mentor/
Prayer Ministry Team
March 29, 2022
We have now returned to providing Prayer Ministry after the morning service. Two members of the team will be based on the left-hand corner at the front of the church. Please feel free to use this safe, confidential space. We are aware that for some it is not easy to come forward in the church. If this is the case, please feel free to contact one of the members of the team, and we can pray for you. Numbers available from office@tpc.org.uk
We are looking for new members to join the team and would ask you to seek God’s guidance on that. We hope to provide some training in the near future.
We look forward to new opportunities ahead for the team as we seek God’s guidance as to where he would have us serve in the future.
Boys’ Brigade
March 29, 2022
Volunteers urgently required!
BB is in desperate need of new leaders this session! We are looking for people to volunteer a skill, etc., first aid, golf etc, and show and teach the boys that skill in 3/4-week blocks. This way we feel volunteering wouldn’t be as big a commitment!
If you’re interested or willing to volunteer on a Thursday evening for the 2022 session, please email Sean – office@tpc.org.uk
Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon! Sean Reilly.
