Edict – Nomination of Rev Stuart Irvin & Electoral Register
September 10, 2021
At a meeting held at Torrance Parish Church on 24 Aug 2021, the Nominating Committee chose the person who they wish to propose to this congregation of Torrance Parish Church to be our new minister. The name of the person proposed is Rev Stuart Irvin. Arrangements have been made for Rev Stuart Irvin to conduct public worship in Torrance Parish Church on Sunday 3 October at 10.30am. The service will also be broadcast online live.
Immediately after that service, a vote on whether or not Rev Stuart Irvin should be appointed as the new minister of this congregation of Torrance Parish Church will be opened. Anyone whose name appears on the Electoral Register of this congregation shall be entitled to vote. No-one else shall be entitled to vote. Those who are entitled to a vote, and for whom the Kirk Session hold email contact details shall receive a letter or email with details of how to cast their vote. Every vote returned must have a unique number written on it. Each person eligible to vote will receive their unique number in a letter or email prior to the opening of the vote. Votes returned without a unique number will not be counted. The unique numbers will not be linked to how votes are cast. All votes must be cast or returned not later than Sunday 3rd of October at 1pm to the Church Building. If you are unable to drop in your own vote someone can do that for you as long as it is delivered in a sealed envelope.
Anyone who is not on the electoral register but wishes to do so should contact the Session Clerk by Monday 20th of September.

Crossover
September 10, 2021
TPC are in the process of setting up a drop-in youth café to give the young people of the village somewhere safe, warm, and fun to come along to. It is due to launch on Saturday 18th September and is aimed at those in P7 to S3/4.
We are looking for some supplies and wondered if anyone in the congregation would be able to assist with any of these that you’re not using and haven’t got around to throwing out yet:
Old video game consoles, games, and peripheries
A smoothie maker / blender
Arts and crafts materials or supplies
Wooden tabletop games (e.g., Jenga, chess, draughts, go etc)
Message Iain Nisbet at office@tpc.org.uk if you’ve got anything you think might fit the bill. Thanks!
East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid – Food Bank
September 10, 2021
We have another worthy cause and would appreciate your help in providing food for people who are in need.
East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid provides refuge, information and support services for women, children and young people in the East Dunbartonshire area who have experienced, or who are currently experiencing, domestic abuse. Torrance Church would like to offer support by way of providing food and toiletries e.g., deodorants and toothpaste to make life just that little bit easier for those who are struggling. If you would like to continue to donate to the Food Bank it would be appreciated if you can place your donation in the box in the church car park (at the cycle rack.) Thank you.
Wednesday Cafe
September 10, 2021
The Café is now open on a Wednesday 9 – 12pm, instead of a Thursday. Come along for tea/coffee, cakes, and scones. Why not invite a friend? All are welcome!
