Nigel’s Retirement – Final Details

June 25, 2021

Here are the final details for the special events marking Nigel’s retirement over the next few days:

Friday 25 June – Celebration Event on Zoom, 7.30pm
This will be live on Zoom from 7.25pm.

Here is the link:   https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89774517743  Meeting ID: 897 7451 7743

Brian Mackenzie will be compering, joining Nigel and Jen and other special guests live from the church with some other contributions by video and presentation of commemorative gifts.

We want everyone to feel a part of this special event so do please turn your video on in Zoom if you are happy to do that so Nigel and Jen can see you – but keep your mic muted!

We will also use the chat function to share comments and memories as the event takes place, so come prepared to drop something in if you wish.

Dress code is as you wish but feel free to dress up for this occasion – loud ties was one suggestion to take or leave!

Please join promptly at 7.25pm in time for the programme starting at 7.30pm sharp. The programme will finish around 9pm.

Saturday 26 June  Sadly ongoing covid restrictions have put paid to plans for a social gathering in person so this will not be going ahead.

Sunday 27 June – Service at 1030am At the time of sending this email, there are still a few seats available to book in the Church Hall overflow – click here to view the booking page.

The service will obviously be available to view online in the usual way.   Afterwards, there will be the chance to line West Balgrochan Road (up the side of the park) to wave Nigel and Jen home a short time after the service concludes (taking care to observe current distancing requirements!).

It will be great to give glory to God and honour Nigel and Jen for their extraordinary contribution to the life of the church and wider community over the past thirty years together.

Remote Ramblings

June 15, 2021

Taking a lead from the much loved women’s Distant Devotions group, and only about a year or so late, we are finally following suit for the men of the congregation (and others).  A group of us now use the YouVersion Bible app to follow daily Bible study plans and WhatsApp to keep in touch and support each other.  Our hope and prayer is that this group will prove as helpful and supportive as the Distant Devotions group has. Anyone (of any gender) interested in being part of this group please contact Iain Nisbet at office@tpc.org.uk

‘A Time of Reflection’ Online

June 8, 2021

at 7.00 pm on Thursday 10 June 2021

We look forward to welcoming you.   Please encourage your neighbours and friends to join us online too by connecting to the church website https://torranceparishchurch.online.church

We have a varied programme and it will be a “TIME OF REFLECTION” as we remember the impact of Covid on our community.   Although it is mainly online we will be inviting a small number of folk to join us in the church.   Posters and emails will be circulated around the village and as always we value your prayerful support as we thank God for His faithfulness to us.   Thank you.

Prayer Team

June 3, 2021

We are aware as a church that there are many challenges in our daily lives. These challenges can cause us much grief within the church and in our community. The past year has made us even more aware of the needs within ourselves and others for support, a place to be heard and a chance to be prayed for.  Because of this our prayer ministry team have been able to offer support to many.  Sadly, due to the present restrictions we have been unable to offer this face to face in the church. However, we have been able to give prayer over the phone and as restrictions ease we hope we will once more be able to offer face to face contact.

Please contact us through the church office office@tpc.org.uk or Tel: 01360 620970 and a member of our team will be in contact. We are here for you whether a church member, member of the community or somebody who remains questioning.
