CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT CHOIR

We’re assembling a choir again this year to help lead the singing at this year’s Carols by Candlelight evening on 18th December. The rehearsal dates are Sundays’ 20th and 27th November and 4th and 11th December at 3.30pm in the church. This is open to all who enjoy singing, whether or not you have previous experience of being in a choir, and don’t worry if you’re not confident reading music – rehearsal CD’s will be provided. Call for Prayer and Fasting – Wednesday 9th March 2011

The call is to pray and fast for the Church of Scotland, the church in Scotland and to seek God for the work of his Kingdom in our land. Along with the usual prayer meetings at 7.00am and 9.15am, the evening prayer meeting will run from 7.00pm till midnight. After the Girls’ Brigade finish at 9.00pm we hope to have various prayer stations in the church and meeting room to help people focus on both personal and national prayer needs. It is hoped that folk will be able to drop in at sometime during the day. There will be a ‘breakfast’ and a time of fellowship with tea coffee and a cake at about 10.00pm. Copies of the program for the evening will be in the vestibule.

Advance notice -The Church weekend away will be at Lendrick Muir from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd October 2011 (this is the last weekend of the October school holidays). Lendrick Muir is operated by Scripture Union Scotland in a beautiful location at Rumbling Bridge near Kinross. Price to be confirmed. Glasgow Gospel Choir

Come along and enjoy an evening of spiritually uplifting Gospel music performed by the Glasgow Gospel Choir on Friday, 4th February at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Cowgate, Kirkintilloch.
Performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 and £3 concession. All the proceeds of the concert go directly to AYDAP (African Youth Development Action Plan). More information from Donald Goldie or John Hair.
