TPC CAFÉ – New Developments November 2018

Thursday Mornings: Experience an informal craft activity session on Thursday mornings. Come along and join the fun. Knitting, crochet, quilting etc. All of this whilst enjoying your Latté, Cappuccino, Americano, Hot Chocolate, Specialist Tea and scones etc. Please come and join us – we are all amateurs, but it is fun.
Friday Afternoons: This is a new venture. From Friday 9th November the café will have an additional afternoon session, opening on Fridays at 200pm until approximately 4 00 – 4 30pm (flexible). It is hoped that mums, dads, grandparents, carers, etc., will take the opportunity to have a break and chat whilst waiting to collect children from school or alternatively with the children after school.

Boys’ Brigade Fundraising Quiz Night

Preparing For Sunday 11 November

In preparation for our next study in Luke the passage to read is Luke 18: 1-8 – Parable: Persistent widow and unjust judge. Nigel will preach on this passage on Sunday 11 November. Big Quiz Night – Tearfund

We are having a Quiz Night in the church in aid of Tearfund on Saturday 17 November at 6.45 for 7pm. For one night only – churches and other groups up and down the country will be taking part in the biggest multi-venue, nationwide quiz ever! We’d love you to join in! GCT has planned a number of ecumenical events including:-
Thursday 25 October 7pm Renfield St Stephen’s Parish Church ‘Pause for Hope’, a service for all affected by cancer .
Thursday 29 November 7pm St Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Newlands St Andrew’s Vigil Roy Henderson, Moderator of Presbytery, will speak, and those caught up in the Clutha Vaults tragedy five years ago will also be remembered.
Wednesday 5 December 6pm Glasgow City Chambers Blessing of the Crib
Sunday 16 December 3pm Glasgow City Chambers Carols for Peace Among other themes, the 30th anniversary of the Lockerbie Disaster will be marked.

Girls’ Brigade

The Brigaders section of Girls’ Brigade has undergone CPR training last session with St John’s Scotland. As part of their service badge, they are fundraising for a defibrillator to be placed at the church. They will be doing different fundraisers over the next few months and would love your support and donations! Please look out for further announcements in the near future.

The Friendship Lunch

The next Friendship Lunch will take place on Tuesday, 6th November at 1pm. Our speaker will be Dr Angus McKee who will be talking about the Munros. So why not come along, have a nice lunch, relax and climb the mountains with us without leaving your seat. We look forward to seeing you.

Sharing /Hearing the Word

All are encouraged during the week to look at the passage in Genesis 49:29-50:14 that we will be focussing on this Sunday and to share your thoughts on it with another/others. This may be with those who believe or others who are interested to find out more about Jesus. The Hearing the Word booklets are available on the bookrack in the foyer for your own use and as an aide to sharing with others.
