Eco Congregation – Beastie Bothy

As part of our Eco Congregation initiative, the children are going to help build a “bug hotel” in the area behind the Church. We will need some building materials so if you have any bricks (the kind with holes in the middle), hollow canes, terracotta flowerpots (chipped or cracked is fine) straw or some logs we would love to have them. Any materials can be left at the back of the Church. Thank you. Dorothy McCarthy.

ALPHA Course

Torrance Church Café Monday 21st January at 7.00pm. Come along and bring a friend to the ALPHA Course this Monday. Enjoy a relaxed evening sharing a meal together and enjoying fellowship in small groups. The ALPHA course is a series of meetings in a relaxed atmosphere at which the claims of Christianity are explained and discussion is invited. Ladies Save the Date!

On Friday 8th March GB are hosting a clothes sale by Taylor Fashions with the proceeds going to GB funds. In the past it has always been a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. Tickets will be available at the end of February. Thanks Sheila.

Friendship Lunch

January 19, 2019

The next Friendship Lunch will be on Tuesday, 5th February at 1pm. The children from Torrance Primary School will again be entertaining us, this time with their Burns’ recitals and songs. This is always very good, and we hope you will be able to join us.

Ceilidh – P7-S6

Crossover are hosting a ceilidh for our young people (P7-S6) in the church on the evening of Saturday 2nd February 2019. We are looking for donations of home baking to replenish energy levels after the Dashing White Sergeant. If you can help, please speak to any of the Crossover leaders (Iain, Moira, Andy or Tracy).

Ladies Monday Group

This will take place on 21st January in the meeting room at 1pm. A group that is open to grow through questions and discussion. A suggested book ‘The End of Religion’ Bruxey Cavey. All welcome to the meeting to discuss a plan. Sheila Bett and Celia Burns.

TPC CAFÉ – New Developments November 2018

Thursday Mornings: Experience an informal craft activity session on Thursday mornings. Come along and join the fun. Knitting, crochet, quilting etc. All of this whilst enjoying your Latté, Cappuccino, Americano, Hot Chocolate, Specialist Tea and scones etc. Please come and join us – we are all amateurs, but it is fun.
Friday Afternoons: This is a new venture. From Friday 9th November the café will have an additional afternoon session, opening on Fridays at 200pm until approximately 4 00 – 4 30pm (flexible). It is hoped that mums, dads, grandparents, carers, etc., will take the opportunity to have a break and chat whilst waiting to collect children from school or alternatively with the children after school.

Preparing For Sunday 11 November

In preparation for our next study in Luke the passage to read is Luke 18: 1-8 – Parable: Persistent widow and unjust judge. Nigel will preach on this passage on Sunday 11 November. The new booklet of Luke 18-19 is available on the bookrack in the foyer for Study groups and individual study. Please take a complimentary copy.
