Crossover Burns Night – Saturday 3 February

February 2, 2024

(P7 to S3)

The Burns Night will be at the church, from 7pm to 9pm and we will be having the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties as part of the evening. Vegetarian haggis will be available. Please let us know in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements.

In addition to the meal, there will be fun and games. Additionally, we would like to invite any of the children who would like to perform a Burns / Scots / other poem / song / music / dance to do so. If that’s you, let us know in advance please.  The pieces you may have been learning for school would be ideal. We would invite the children to dress up smartly, and to wear something tartan (if you can). Thanks Iain.

Crossover 2024!

January 5, 2024

Crossover kicks off on Saturday 6 January 2024! Saturday is near the end of the school holidays. It is also (at least by some reckonings) 12th Night, an evening traditionally set aside for merriment and entertainment. So, in that spirit, we will be hosting a family games night to which you are invited.

Crossover members can attend on their own without a parent or carer, however, siblings who are not Crossover members may only attend along with a parent or carer. Hope you can all make it along to join in the fun!

Crossover drop-in Youth Café

November 17, 2023

Saturday (18 November)!

The youth cafe will be running at the church, from 7pm to 9pm.  As it is a drop-in cafe, the young people are welcome to attend for any period during that time, as they like, and as fits with any other commitments they may have for that evening.

Remember that Saturday Pizza Club is also running from 6pm (contact Iain Nisbet with any questions).

Please do spread the word and invite others you know from P7 to S4 who may be interested.

Crossover is back this weekend and it’s a “Big Event” Crossover. This Saturday we will be running a joint event with our friends at St. Rollox church in Sighthill. The evening will be filled with fun and games including an inflatable assault course and a bouncy castle! If your child wants to take part, please let us know in advance, this is very helpful for transport arrangements.

Please meet up at Torrance Parish Church from 6.15pm, we will be leaving promptly at 6.30pm. We will drop children back to their homes for around 9.30pm. Transport is by leaders’ cars. Some parental cars may be required. Please do spread the word and invite others you know from P7 to S4 who may be interested. New members will need to make sure to complete this session’s registration form (https://eu.jotform.com/202147077463353)

Crossover Youth Café

Saturday 21 October from 7pm to 9pm

There will be a range of activities for the young people to choose from: board games, crafts, console games, table sports, active games, smoothie bar, café area, music, or just sitting and chatting!

Crossover is free and we will be running a free (dairy-free) smoothie bar, and some of our S4’s will be running a tuck shop as a micro-enterprise activity, and so the children may wish to bring money for that.

Please do spread the word and invite others you know from P7 to S4 who may be interested.

Crossover Burns Supper – P7 to S4

February 3, 2023

Saturday 4 February, 7pm

Crossover will be celebrating Scotland’s favourite poet! If any of the children would like to prepare a short poem / song / dance / something else to share on the night, that would be great. The P7s at Torrance PS will recently have been learning Scottish poetry and a verse or two to perform would be just wonderful after the haggis! As ever, it is useful to know in advance who is coming and who is not. The start Time is 7pm, promptly please.  Pick up at 9pm as usual from the church.

If your child wants to take part, please let us know in advance, and make sure that you have completed this session’s registration form (https://eu.jotform.com/202147077463353).  You only need to complete the form once for the whole 2022/23 session.
