Big Quiz Night – Tearfund

We are having a Quiz Night in the church in aid of Tearfund on Saturday 17 November at 6.45 for 7pm. For one night only – churches and other groups up and down the country will be taking part in the biggest multi-venue, nationwide quiz ever! We’d love you to join in! is holding its annual fundraising Ladies Night, supporting children with cancer, on Friday 23rd November in Torrance Bowling Club. Along with the usual games and buffet, entertainment will be provided by singer John Bennett throughout the evening. Our retiral collection next Sunday will benefit The Church House, Bridgeton where the facilities and activities of the club help and enable the staff and volunteers to get alongside and encourage their young members to grow and develop, at their own pace, into young adults. There will be envelopes in the seats, and if you wish to contribute please place your donation inside the envelope and place it in the plate in the foyer. If you have signed up for the Gift Aid Scheme, please put your name on the outside of the envelope. Thank you.

Act For Our Future

Take part in a free interactive workshop led by Diane Green of Christian Aid, in partnership with Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, to give you more information on Scotland’s new Climate Change Act and how you can get involved in the campaign for climate justice. Claire McCollum visits the Christian relief and development charity – Tearfund – celebrating its 50th birthday and meets Christians showing compassion around the world. Tune in on Sunday at 4.10pm and celebrate 50 years of Tearfund’s work from the comfort of your living room. You’ll see some of the remarkable things the staff and partners do overseas – including a report from Nepal, where a terrible quake hit in 2015. Sleep in the park

On Saturday 9th December, Alison Crawford, Sheila and Eilidh Traynor have signed up to “Sleep in the Park” which is a mass overnight sleep-out in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens with 9,000 others. They have done this through GB Scotland who has encouraged leaders and girls over 16 to support this. It is hoped that by raising funds and working together, the people of Scotland will create such an impetus that homelessness will be eradicated over a five-year period. Preshal Trust

This is a worthwhile cause that Junior Church support each year and we will again be collecting toys, chocolates and gift sets for the above charity. If you would like to donate can you please bring toys, unwrapped, on Sunday 3rd and 10th December (or before) and these will be passed on to the Preshal Trust to distribute to the local children.
