The Children’s Christmas Music Recital

December 17, 2017

The Recital will be held on Saturday the 23rd December at 5.30pm in the Church. We are once again extending an invitation to all children and young people who would like to perform a musical item. This can be any instrument, including voice, and any standard from beginner to concert pianist! We will be using this opportunity to raise funds for Mercy House in Zambia where Anne Davidson works and towards expenses for SU camps for the children of the School SU group. Come along and be entertained by our children and enjoy a great evening. A cup of tea, coffee, shortbread and baking will be served. Catherine Nicolson.

Thank you from Alison, Eilidh and Sheila

December 17, 2017

Thank you very much to everyone who sponsored us to “Sleep in the Park” last Saturday night. We survived the sub zero temperatures with lots of layers and raised an amazing £1.4k for homelessness projects.

Sleep in the park

December 4, 2017

On Saturday 9th December, Alison Crawford, Sheila and Eilidh Traynor have signed up to “Sleep in the Park” which is a mass overnight sleep-out in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens with 9,000 others. They have done this through GB Scotland who has encouraged leaders and girls over 16 to support this. It is hoped that by raising funds and working together, the people of Scotland will create such an impetus that homelessness will be eradicated over a five-year period. If you would like to sponsor us, then please go to: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/ and search for either Alison Crawford or Sheila Traynor and this will take you to the Torrance GB teams fundraising page.

Walk and Talk

December 4, 2017

As this is the Christmas meeting, there will be no walk, just talk. We will meet at Dobbies Garden Centre at 10.00am for coffee and chat. A leaflet with the list of walks for the next year is available on the table in the café. New walkers are always welcome.

Christmas Card

December 4, 2017

Connect are making the Christmas card this year so look for it appearing in the foyer any day now. To save time and energy writing cards to your friends in the Church, why don’t you leave a message on the card in the foyer. As we are endeavouring to be an ECO friendly Church, this will play a small part in not using so much paper. There will be a donation box with the card so, if you would like to donate what you would normally spend on cards, this would be much appreciated. Donations will go to Mercy House in Zambia, so you will also be helping the children there.

Carols by Candlelight – Sunday 17th December

December 4, 2017

The annual Carols by Candlelight event is on Sunday 17th December at 7.00pm. It’s an event for the whole village, so please come, and invite family, neighbours and friends to join us. It’s for all ages! Once again, donations of mince pies, shortbread or tray bakes to serve at Carols by Candlelight on Sunday 17th December would be greatly appreciated. These can be handed in to the church kitchen on the morning of Sunday 17th. Many thanks.
