NEW SCOTTISH ARTS – “Express Yourself”

“Express Yourself” is an exciting opportunity for young people (age 12-17) to express themselves through the creative arts. There will be workshops on music, dance, drama and graffiti arts and it’s a friendly and fun way to develop your skills, give you a chance to try new things and find out ways you can express yourself as a Christian. The workshop will be held in Dundee on Saturday 15 and 29 January, 2011 from 10:00am to 16:30pm. (£10 registration charge). To register, download a booking form from www.newscottish.org

Prison Fellowship

A meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 31st January 2011 at Bearsden Baptist Church, 14 Roman Road, Bearsden G61 2SL to discuss ways of assisting Prison Fellowship in their work at Low Moss Prison when it re-opens in Spring 2012.  This meeting will be for potential volunteers, which could be lay people or clergy from around the local churches.  It will be to hear more about the plans for Low Moss, what being a volunteer would involve and provide the opportunity for people to express their interest in pursuing an involvement further.

Prayer Clinic – Friday

The “Prayer Clinic” will not be available on Friday 24th and 31st December, however, a prayer box is situated in the café area where you can write your request and we will commit to praying on your behalf for the next week.  All prayers and requests are totally confidential. The “Prayer Clinic” will resume on Friday 7th January, from 10:45am to 12:15pm.

The Coffee Shop – Wednesday

The Coffee Shop will be closed on Wednesday 29th December and will re-open on 5th January for tea, coffee and scones. The Prayer Clinic will also be available on this day. All welcome.

Prayer Time

A reminder that the meeting room is set aside for prayer every Sunday from 9:15am – 10:00am.  A special time of silence is spent waiting on God followed by a time of sharing and praying for one another as well as for our church.  All are welcome.

Coach house ‘alternatives’

Why not do your ‘alternative’ gift shopping this Christmas through the Coach House in Balmore? As a sample here are some of the things you can give: a beehive for honey production (£12) – Joliba Trust, Mali; a tea plant (£5) – Sophia Mission Institute, Burma; field of vegetable seedlings (£15) – Saidiana Women Group, Kenya. All you need to do is pick up one of the leaflets and form from the back of the Church or the Coach House, select your present, fill in the form, pay at the Coach House, and you will receive your gift card there.
